Unreleased Adult Fantasy Duology (Book #1)

DOMAC
DOMAC was extremely fun to write.
This book exists in the same world as IH, but the events of DOMAC take place after the conclusion of the IH series. Funnily enough, the idea for DOMAC came to me before the plot for IH did. As I was world-building for DOMAC, asking myself how things came to be, and what the history of this setting was, that was when the plot for IH materialized.
The way DOMAC came to be is also interesting. It was the characters that led me to this story, rather than the plot.
The main character in DOMAC was originally a side character in a script I was working on, and he ran the docks of this other fantasy world. He was a wickedly clever and wildly unpredictable character who slowly began to take over my script until he became far more interesting than the main character. That was when I decided he wasn’t a side character at all, but the main character of his own story. So I cut him out of the script and began exploring who this character was. This led me to the creation of his crew—an ensemble of characters that seemed to create themselves.
DOMAC made me fall back in love with writing during a time when imposter syndrome was getting the best of me, and I was feeling weary. I wrote DOMAC when I was 19 and 20, during a time when I was experiencing a lot of change in my life, and I credit this novel the most with finding my true voice. I found my confidence with DOMAC, and my ‘stride’, in a way. Although I have yet to publish DOMAC, I do hope to in the near future.
